UNITED WAY BREAKFAST KICKOFF, FINDLAY

United Way Hosting Breakfast Kickoff FINDLAY, Oh – Michael Needler Jr., this year’s chair for United Way of Hancock County’s annual fundraising campaign, will host a breakfast kickoff event on Friday, September 5th from 7-9 a.m. in Great Scot’s parking lot at 2021 Broad Ave. Needler is the president and chief executive officer at Fresh Encounter, owner of Great Scot Community Markets. The event is free and open to the public. It will include breakfast, keynote speakers, displays by partner agencies and a live radio remote with WKXA, WFIN and 106.3 The Fox. The purpose is to inspire campaign volunteers and local citizens to support United Way as well as distribute campaign materials. Cheri Bloomfield will speak about her experience in poverty and how she brought herself out of the challenges of being on government assistance with the support of many United Way funded programs. A ribbon cutting with Chamber Ambassadors will take place followed immediately by the drawing of the winning car raffle ticket. The car raffle features a new 2013 Ford Focus Titanium donated by Cooper Tire. The car is the first vehicle to be produced with Cooper tires as original equipment. The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
