The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.

Night Skies of Late Fall, HPD, FINDLAY

No fee, but register by Thursday, November 13 Would you like to learn what’s going on in the sky lately? Join us for a planetarium program, Night Skies of the Lake Fall, on Friday, November 14 from 7-8pm. The group will meet at the Discovery Center at Oakwoods Nature Preserve. Families will enjoy a brief introduction inside the Discovery Center, followed by a Planetarium Show to see what will be happening in the sky this time of year. Participants are required to sit on the floor, so feel free to bring along a pillow to sit on. Inquire about handicap accessibility. Join us to learn about constellations including Andromeda and Cassiopeia, and which planets are visible in the late fall sky and much more! There is no fee, but registration is required by Thursday, November 13, by calling the park district office at (419) 425-7275. The Oakwoods Nature Preserve, “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center is located at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, off West Sandusky Street, off CR 144, west of Findlay.
