Open House – Frozen Nature, HPD, Findlay

From 1:00PM to 4:00PM

When the temperatures drop we can go inside, but what happens to the wildlife that has to stay outside? Nature has many ways to adapt to the cold and freezing temperatures. Meet at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, in the Discovery Center on Sunday, January 18 from 1-4 PM. You will learn about what happens when nature freezes over and how the plants and animals survive. You will receive a prize if you can answer this: name an amphibian that can freeze in the winter and that can thaw out in the spring, but still be alive. All ages are welcome to this Open House event. The Oakwoods Nature Preserve, “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center is located at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, off West Sandusky Street, off CR 144, west of Findlay. For more information about other upcoming programs and events, view the HPD Seasonal Program Guide at www.HancockParks.com under the “What’s New” section or call the HPD office at 419-425-PARK/7275 and “Discover Your Hancock Parks”.
